PSHE
Our Personal, Social, Health and Economic scheme is taught weekly from Reception to Year 11.
The programme of study has been developed by the PSHE Association, the national body for PSHE education. The statutory guidance is comprehensively covered by learning opportunities for each key stage across the programme’s three core themes: ‘Health and Wellbeing’, ‘Relationships’, and ‘Living in the Wider World’, Even though much of ‘Living in the Wider World’ is not included in statutory requirements, we believe that this core theme is equally important as it covers economic wellbeing, careers and enterprise education and education for personal safety, including assessing and managing risk.
Furthermore, we follow the PSHE Associations RSE guidance and resources (Medway Scheme) to teach both the statutory relationships education and the advised sex education, at age-appropriate levels for each class.
If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding your child or our schemes of learning, please do get in touch. We are happy to share resources that are used to teach RSE in school, talk to you in more detail about this and answer any questions you may have.
